Game 1 recap: Kick Tease 6, Bad News Beers #winning (or losing) 1

Kickteasers!

First of all, my apologies for not getting this up yesterday, but honestly, I'm lucky to be alive. Got a little too carried away with open bar and first night shenanigans and forgot to eat dinner. Needless to say I had the worst hangover I've had in recent memory and didn't make it to work until 1:30. But enough about me. Let's talk about #winning.

Congratulations to both Kick Tease veterans and newbies on winning our first game against the Bad News Bears. They are one of the more competitive teams in the league and their captain was visibly angry about our 6-1 win.

Though it wasn't the most exciting game, and the field was rather small, you all showed them that Kicktease is a force not to be reckoned with. We had a couple good kicks far into the outfield, most of which they caught, but as Jake always reminds us, games are won by good defense. We did great in the field. Very little errors- most of which were covered up very quickly.

One area of concern: Energy levels. We are a TEAM and we need to CHEER for each other- both when we're in the field and at bat. And ESPECIALLY when someone does something good. I have no doubt in my mind, though, that this will be helped next week by our reunion with Rohan and some awful 80's/90's mixes on the boom box.

MVP goes out to:
Stefan: for kicking the first home run of the season- woohoo! well done, my friend,
and to
Matt: for coming back strong as ever after last season's hiatus and batting two for two, scoring a run, and 1 or more catches. Also for staying out the latest, word on the street was matt was down the street smoking hooka at another bar into the wee morning hours. We are glad to have you back, sir, and not just because that means I will no longer be the last person at the bar every week

LVP: DPR for sucking and changing the game at the last minute. Also for whatever shitty company makes out tshirts and changed the color to an awful baby blue

Also- you're presence at the bar was impressive. The energy we lacked on the field sure as hell showed up at the bar as we dominated (sort of) the upstairs flip cup table all night long. I expect to see you all show up to the bar the same way. every single week.

Thanks all for showing up- especially with the last minute field change and the ridiculously far location. Hopefully that will all be fixed by next week. We're on our way to a great season.

Remember this? We need a repeat

Vote now: Which night works best for you?

Team,

This season, we have the option of playing on one of four nights: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

The season will begin in late March (I don't have an exact date, but probably the final week of the month) and go, I'd think, until the second week in June. So in making your choice(s) for a day, think about all those dates.

From a personal standpoint, Wednesdays are bad for me, as I know I'd miss at least two games -- 25% of the season. So I'd prefer another day. But we're a team, so whichever day gets the most love, we'll go with that.

Having said that, vote now! You can choose more than one day.
